Status prior to Jobs Fair: Completed College Course
LJF: June 2019
Position: Trainee Health & Safety Consultant
A mum of 5 children, Brigette wanted to get into work when her youngest started full-time school, so, started off with going back to college to re-train.
She had already qualified in Childcare level 1&2 but wanted a job that could fit in with her children, so decided to study Health and Social Care level 4&5 – completing it just before the Jobs Fair.
At the event, she met with Bluebird Care who got it touch with her promptly after the event. She had been contacted by 3 employers, but Bluebird Care’s arrangement of working fitted in more with her lifestyle and children.
Brigette had an interview with Bluebird soon after the jobs fair, completed her training and once her references were confirmed, she started work on 27th July.
‘I think that the Jobs Fair is brilliant, especially for mums. We are so busy, so sitting down in front of a computer to search for jobs for a couple of hours is hard, it is much better to have an event like the London Jobs fair where you can speak to people face to face, take a leaflet and apply for a position.’
